A barn isn't simply another building on the property. It might house livestock, protect equipment, store feed or supplies, or provide the workspace that keeps the operation running. At Perkins Metal Roofing, we understand that firsthand. Our family operates a beef farm, giving us a practical connection to the agricultural community and an understanding of what working farm buildings are expected to handle.
We provide metal roofing, wall systems, siding and complete agricultural building solutions across the Kingston-to-Ottawa region. From replacing the roof on an existing barn to constructing a new agricultural building from the ground up, we'll discuss the details before work begins so you know what the project involves and what it will cost.

Built Around the Way Your Farm Works
Every agricultural operation uses its buildings differently. A dairy barn doesn't have the same requirements as a machinery shed, and a storage building has different priorities from a livestock facility.
Perkins Metal Roofing works on:
-
dairy barns
-
livestock barns
-
machinery sheds
-
agricultural storage buildings
-
equipment buildings
-
utility structures
We take on new construction, upgrades and replacement projects, tailoring the materials and exterior systems to the building's purpose and the demands of the property.
From the Roof Down to the Walls
Agricultural buildings need protection on more than one surface. We install agricultural metal roofing, steel wall and siding systems, soffit and fascia, along with custom trims and flashings made to suit the individual structure. This gives farm owners the flexibility to replace a single component or coordinate several parts of the building exterior as one project. For new construction, roofing, walls and finishing details can be planned together from the outset.

Farm Conditions Don't Stop at the Door
Moisture, humidity and the everyday realities of agricultural operations can be tough on conventional interior finishes. That's why the material on the inside of a farm building matters too. Perkins Metal Roofing offers interior liner solutions including steel liner panels, corrugated PVC panels, acoustic panels and specialty liners. Depending on the application, these products can provide practical alternatives in environments where traditional materials may deteriorate more quickly. We'll help you determine which liner system is appropriate for the building and how the space is used.
Starting with an Empty Piece of Ground?
Sometimes the project isn't a new roof. It's a whole new building. We construct custom agricultural buildings from the ground up, with options tailored to your property's operational needs. Roofing profiles, wall systems, interior finishes and exterior details can be selected according to what the structure needs to do once the doors open.
Before construction begins, we'll go through the project with you in detail. There are plenty of ways to build an agricultural structure, and we'd rather understand what you need at the beginning than make assumptions halfway through.

Three Steel Profiles
Ready for Farm Duty
Perkins Metal Roofing supplies agricultural steel from Easy Building Products, with G-Rib, D-Rib and R-Rib available for farm and agricultural applications. All three profiles are manufactured from 29-gauge high-tensile steel. Easy Building Products uses a multi-layer protective system that includes Galvalume, primer and a silicone polyester finish designed to withstand exposure to sun, wind, rain, heat and cold while resisting mildew, peeling, blistering and flaking.
G-Rib
G-Rib combines high-tensile steel with a ribbed profile designed to provide a sturdy, weather-tight exterior. Its resistance to denting and limited expansion and contraction make it suitable for agricultural structures where dependable exterior coverage matters.

D-Rib
D-Rib provides the same 29-gauge high-tensile steel construction and protective coating system in a different panel profile. Easy Building Products also provides wall-specific load data for D-Rib, making it an option worth considering for agricultural wall applications.
R-Rib
R-Rib offers another profile choice for agricultural projects, with the same emphasis on weather resistance, dent resistance and long-term exterior protection. The different profile gives farm owners and builders another way to match the panel to the requirements and appearance of the structure.
Panels can be custom cut to the inch in lengths up to 30 feet, which can reduce or eliminate end laps and help create a tighter finished exterior.

We Know a Farm Building Has Work to Do
Our agricultural roots influence how we approach these projects. A farm building isn't there to sit pretty. It has equipment moving around it, animals or materials inside it, changing temperatures to deal with and work happening around it day after day. That's why we focus on durable materials, practical recommendations and solutions appropriate to how the building will actually be used.
Perkins Metal Roofing brings more than 16 years of industry experience to projects throughout Eastern Ontario. We're fully insured, WSIB compliant and Working at Heights certified, with competitive pricing and dependable service from Kingston to Ottawa. Our installations are also backed by a 10-year workmanship warranty, with a 30-year material warranty.
